Structured Support for

Families in the Home

Intensive In-Home (IIH) Services provide structured, clinical support delivered directly in the home, at school, and in the community for children and adolescents ages 5 to 17 who are experiencing significant emotional or behavioral challenges.

IIH meets families where behaviors actually happen, in the spaces where children live, learn, and grow. The goal is to stabilize the home, strengthen family relationships, and prevent more restrictive placements like hospitalization, residential treatment, or foster care.

When Intensive In-Home May Be Appropriate

IIH may be appropriate when:

  • A child or teen (ages 5 to 17) is dealing with ongoing behavioral or emotional challenges
  • Family conflict is making it hard to keep things safe or stable at home
  • Outpatient therapy on its own is not enough to make a difference
  • There is risk of the child being placed outside the home, including hospitalization, residential treatment, or foster care
  • A more frequent, structured level of support is needed in the home and community

If you are not sure whether IIH is the right level of care for your child, our team can walk you through the assessment process and help you figure out next steps.

what happens next

How Intensive In-Home Services Work

A coordinated, family-focused model designed to build lasting change in the home and across the systems supporting the child.
1.

Assessment and Service Planning

Each family begins with a comprehensive clinical assessment that reviews behavioral concerns, family dynamics, and treatment goals. Our team then develops an Individualized Service Plan (ISP) with clear, measurable objectives tailored to the child and family.
2.

In-Home Therapeutic Intervention

A team of Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs), supervised by a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP), works directly with the child and family in the home and community. The work focuses on stabilizing behaviors, teaching coping skills, supporting parents, and improving communication across the whole family.
3.

Skill Development and Family Strengthening

Services focus on building skills the whole family can use, including emotional regulation, problem-solving, communication, and crisis prevention. We also work directly with parents and caregivers to strengthen their capacity to manage challenging behaviors with confidence.
4.

Ongoing Monitoring and Coordination

Our team coordinates closely with schools, medical providers, and any other supports involved in the child's care. Progress is reviewed regularly and the service plan is adjusted as the child grows and family needs change.
our approach

Community-Based Support Across Our Service Region

IIH treats the whole family as part of the work, not just the child. Our team is in the home, on the ground, working alongside parents and caregivers so the strategies that build stability are practiced in real settings with real support. The result is care that holds up after services end.
