Common Questions, Clear Answers
Every person begins with a clinical assessment that reviews substance use history, current needs, and recovery goals. The assessment helps determine whether Peer Recovery Services, Level 2.1 (IOP), or Level 2.5 (PHP) is the most appropriate starting point within our Substance Treatment Programs. Our clinical team works with you to make the recommendation.
Yes. Recovery is not linear, and the right level of care can change as your needs and progress evolve. Many participants move from PHP to IOP to Peer Recovery as they build stability, while others may need to step up to a more intensive level temporarily. Our team reviews your progress regularly and adjusts the plan with you.
No. Inpatient treatment is not required to begin our outpatient programs. PHP and IOP can both serve as a starting point for someone who does not need or want inpatient care. The clinical assessment will help determine whether outpatient services are appropriate for your situation, or whether a higher level of care is recommended first.
We accept Anthem, Aetna Better Health, Magellan, Humana, Sentara, and United Healthcare/Optum. Coverage and eligibility vary by plan, so contact our team and we can help verify your specific benefits before services begin.
Length of treatment varies based on individual needs, progress, and recovery goals. PHP and IOP are time-limited programs, with most participants completing one level before stepping down to the next. Peer Recovery Services can continue longer as part of ongoing community-based support. Your treatment plan will include expected length of stay and is reviewed regularly with your clinical team.
