To this end, Behavioral Specialists have the following responsibilities:

• Assist staff with observations
• Serve pro-bono clients
• Assist with client de-escalations
• Serve as driver on outings-client pickups and drop offs-routes and staff commutes
• acilitate securing signatures for documentation
• Confer daily with staff to identify their needs
• Prepare for psycho-educational groups when needed
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with school staff to promote the program, elicit referrals, and maintain census and growth of the program
• Attend the site’s staff meetings
• Conduct family contacts on an as needed basis
• Develop and obtain permission slips for therapeutic outings
• Assist in obtaining daily attendance of all clients in the county
• Purchase food and supplies needed for program
• Manage distribution of snacks
• Ensure the care and maintenance of vehicles i.e. inspections, registration, fuel, etc.
• Assist potential clients and families with overcoming obstacles with approval process i.e. transportation to assessment appointments
• Foster relationship development with clients, their families and administration by attending extracurricular activities periodically
• Attend all related school review team meetings, staffings, etc. related to a client when staff is unable to attend
• Attend all annual mandatory agency training (Handle with Care, First Aid & CPR, Human Rights, HIPPA, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned.

To this end, Behavioral Specialists have the following responsibilities:

• Provide direct service daily, including psycho-educational groups, crisis interventions, and weekly contact with parent(s)/legal guardian(s).
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with school staff.
• Promote the program in a positive manner to elicit referrals and maintain census and growth of the program.
• Participate in monthly outings.
• Maintain an accurate list of caseload.
• Submit a copy of all Restraint Forms and Incident Reports to your Site Supervisor.
• Ensure that every Incident Report is completed immediately after the incident and that it is submitted to the Program Director within 24 hours of the incident.
• Complete assigned documentation daily using sound clinical documentation and abide by all agency, Medicaid and licensure standards.
• Submit progress notes daily to the Site Supervisor.
• Attend all related school review teams, staffing, etc. when related to a client assigned to your caseload.
• Complete all Quarterly Reviews on or before the due date.
• Participate in the development of ISPs for clients on your caseload.
• Interact with licensed staff a minimum of every 6 months to make them aware of the need for goal modifications, deletions and additions.
• Attend all annual and/or semi-annual mandatory agency trainings (Handle With Care, CPR, First Aid, Human Rights and HIPAA, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

The Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) will possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a Human Services Field or Special Education with at least one (1) year of direct clinical services to children or adolescents.

• Provide clinically sound intensive in-home therapy and counseling for client and family to reduce the risk of out of home placement.
• Establish appropriate working rapport with client and family.
• Utilize various strategies and therapeutic interventions with client to improve their overall emotional coping.
• Provide 24 hour crisis intervention for client and family.
• Reporting all crisis/emergencies with client and family to Clinical Supervisor immediately.
• Assist Assessor and/or Clinical Supervisor in gathering information for initial assessment.
• Collaborate with other necessary service providers (schools, psychologist, psychiatric and social services and all other mental health providers) on an as needed basis to provide wrap around services for client.
• Participate in IEP, 504 Plan meetings, etc. and other meetings as need for client.
• Attend all annual mandatory agency and staff trainings( Handle with Care, CPR First Aid, Human Rights, HIPPA)
• Submit all progress, reimbursement and accountability sheets on a weekly basis.
• Complete ISP within 30days of the initiation of services.
• Minimum of 6 hours of services provided weekly not to exceed 10 hours without administration approval upon notification of crisis situation.
• Provide well written documentation of individual sessions.
• Coordinate services for family sessions with an LMHP or outpatient therapy.
• Maintain that all charts are up to date and update needed documentation annually.
• Attend mandatory weekly supervision.
• Must be willing to work as a part of a clinical team and assist colleagues if needed
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification:

The qualified applicant will possess a bachelor’s degree in a counseling or social work field from an accredited college and with at least one year of clinical experience with children and adolescents. Qualified applicant will be a QMHP-C a person in the human services field who is trained and experienced in providing psychiatric or mental health services to children or adolescence who have a mental illness.
